With the soaring quantity of automobiles, the Intelligent Transportation System emerge is developing quickly. At the same time, the Vehicles Managing Navigation System is developing quickly too. The traditional Vehicles Managing Navigation System transmits data through GSM-SMS. SMS method is poo in real-time. It increasingly can not meet people's needs. In contrast with GSM, using GPRS technology which has highly speed , highly reliable and highly reliability; especially, it is low cost. Now, the GPRS technology has become one of the main development direction.Based on the features of Vehicles Managing Navigation System and conbining GPRS technology with GPS technology, and using uCOS-II embedded OS and C8051F Microcontroller, the author designed an embedded Vehicle Terminal based on C8051F Microcontroller.The project uses the C8051F314 Microcontroller as the hardware platform;GPS module uses SC-1513; GPRS module uses SIM300 and the embedded OS uses uCOS-II which has abundant resource that help designing the software. The Vehicle Terminal can steady operation finally. The project designed the Microcontroller circuit, GPS module circuit and GPRS module circuit in hardware side. In software side,the arthor transplanted the uCOS-II, and designed the user Applications and the communications program of GPS module and GPRS module.The Vehicle Terminal extract the locating information from the GPS module. The locating information is transported to the service center through short message or GPRS network. The service centre can take mesures in time from the location information and state information. So, the centre can manage the vehicles that are monitored effectually.The design is different from the distinguish ways which uses the short message to transfer the position message. It not only achieve the communication but also reduces the cost of communication. It improves the communication and stability, which lays the first stone for the popularization.
