With the vigorous development of China's shipping industry, shipbuilding industry developed rapidly and impressively as well as ships scientific and technological progress is remarkable. Shipping industry as a key national development strategy project has entered the top ten of China's plan to revitalize industry. The next decade is the crucial period for China's shipbuilding industry developing. Meanwhile, with the rapid development of computer hardware, software and integrated circuit technology, engine room automation systems have become one of the most dynamic branches of the shipbuilding industry and made tremendous progress. With increased degree of automation in cabin system, the traditional cabin automation control system what designed using PLC and other general-purpose controller is difficult to adapt to current technological developments in the performance, structure and security, etc. Digital Signal Processor (DSP) is a high-speed dedicated microprocessor with high precision, good reliability and superior real-time. TMS320F2812 which have powerful computing features and built-in CAN controllers can achieve high-speed input and high-speed transmission of data. It provides efficient and reliable platform for marine engine room automation control system. In such conditions, the paper designs a controller of marine engine room automation system based on DSP.This paper first introduces a ship engine room automation system's overall structure and fuzzy PID control algorithm used in diesel engine speed control and fuzzy sliding mode control algorithm used in Autopilot heading control. It is the theoretical basis for lower computer DSP controller design. According to the basic principles of DSP controller monitoring the ship sub-system, introduces the DSP controller and peripheral hardware architecture module based on TMS320F2812 chip. Then details of the upper and lower computer communication software design process, and uses rapid control prototyping in the MATLAB and CCS to complete software implementation of system control algorithm. Finally based on marine engine room automation system real-time hybrid simulation platform, complets the system controller simulation and experimental, verifies the reasonableness of the control strategy and the feasibility of the controller.In this paper, the upper and DSP lower computer's two control automation system is used in ship automation. Design is completed the cabin automation system DSP controller design method for the ship building industry. The marine engine room automation system reliability and real-time performance has been greatly improved to combine DSP and CAN bus.
