With the rapid development of science and technology, the emergence of new technologies, the rapid pace of product renewal, significantly shorten the life cycle, it is leading to increasingly fierce market competition.In order to meet the competitive environment, Enterprises have the use of advanced production methods to increase productivity, shorten the development cycle of new products to market.Many enterprises, research institutes have studied advanced modes of production.Mass customization is also attendant.This paper analyzes the design of mechanical product development process in general, and it is come to some problem in product design processing.Through analysis of the existing problems in product designing,the paper get a product design process fast business model,clearly the product design system features rapid deployment requirements, build functional model of the system and build the system architecture, and system solutions.It is also studied the system development tools-UG secondary development of key technologies and system integration technology - system communication technologies And parametric design. On this basis to UG NX4.0 for the secondary development platform, with MFC AppWizard application of development and design as a program guide, the UG / OPEN API as a programming interface, Microsoft SQL2000 as a basis database, using XML technology as a means of communication systems with PDM, developed a productfast design system based on three-dimensional, integrating with UG software.Finally, the author using a steering gear`s design processing as a example, describes the rapid deployment of steering gear design process. Practice has proved that the application of this system significantly reduces design time, improve efficiency, rapid product design. it has verificated the system framework and implementation strategy is feasible.
