With the pulling of market demand and the push of information technology, productionmethods have the revolutionary change in manufacturing. Mass customization (MC) has becomea mainstream production mode of the21st century. Product data management (PDM) technologyis one of the key technology for MC. Research&Application on Methods of Product DataManagement for Mass Customization has been one of the frontier directions in enterpriseinformationization and has very important meaning.Combined with the research of National Natural Science Foundation of China(NO:50805133), Manufacturing Information priority themes Key Project of Zhejiang Province (NO:2008C11006) and PDM Project of Youngman Automobile Group Co., Ltd, Research&Application on Methods of Product Data Management for Mass Customization is studied basedon the basic principle of MC. The paper's main contents are as follows:Chapter one elaborates the background, the present situation of study on masscustomization and the PDM, and the relationship between MC and PDM. This chapter introducesthe source of the subject and the main research contents of papers.Chapter two introduces the Methods of Knowledge Management for Mass Customizationbased on PDM system. It focused on the key technology principle of knowledge management,including parts classification, master part model, metadata management, classificationmanagement and document management. Combined with the foundation, this chapter expandsthe practical application of knowledge management in the enterprise and realization of Data'sinput and output by Java.Chapter three introduces the rapid response design for MC. Principles and the keytechnologies of the rapid response design are presented. The key technologies of the rapidresponse design include coding system for MC, modular technology, components geometryanalysis, and parameter analysis of parts. Combined with the foundation, this chapter expounds the process of the rapid response design on key parts and the standard parts of agriculturalmachinery products based on XML, and realization of the code system of parts based onTeamcenter and JAVA.Chapter four introduces the workflow management for MC. Theory and the technologies ofworkflow management for MC are presented. Combined with the foundation and the actual datain enterprise, this chapter expounds the version management of parts and organization andauthority management of workflow management. Business process of development ofYoungman Automobile is constructed. The data approval model and the design change modelare established. Using JAVA language, the automatic export module of notice of design changebased on Teamcenter is developed.Chapter five introduces the product structure and configuration and BOM Management forMC. Principles of the product structure and configuration for MC, and a method of BOMmanagement for MC are presented. Products structure and configuration for MC includes themain product structure, which is modular and configurable, methods of product configurationand product data model. Combined with the actual data in enterprise, this chapter expands thepractical application of technology of products structure and configuration and methods of BOMmanagement in the Youngman Automobile Group Co., Ltd.Chapter six introduces the summary and prospect of whole paper.
