Recent years, extremely bad rain and snow weather caused traffic tie-up around the world. How to alleviate the influence on the traffic by the bad weather has been an urgent problem to be solved at present. According to the situation, a new kind of the road surface monitoring system must be researched to monitor moisture and temperature information on roads and then take relative measures of clearing snow and ice, which has a great significance to ensure some special roads safety such as bridges, culverts and airport runway. Today low-carbon life is strongly advocated. By the use of GPRS network and Internet connectivity, this paper, combining with intelligent control technology and remote monitoring technology, designs an intelligent control and remote monitoring system to address the road issue of removing snow and melting ice.First, intelligent control and remote monitoring technology are introduced in the paper. A more detailed explanation is given for their current home and abroad situation and developing trend. Then, the overall design of the system is described, including system design processes, architecture, functional requirements, work processes and software and hardware development environment of the system. Third, DHT90 digital temperature and humidity sensor is to acquire data and MCU STC12C4052 as a processor. Data acquisition terminal module is designed through building the external circuit. Meanwhile, LPC2138 is chosen as the main chip andμC/OS-II as a real-time operating system after the introduction of embedded system, ARM7 main chip and operating system. ARM7 embedded system is taken as a data processing and transmission side afterμC/OS-Ⅱreal time operating system is successfully transplanted. The power circuit, reset circuit and LCD liquid crystal screen display circuit are introduced one by one. According to the hardware circuit, the relative software program is written, and a data processing and transmission side is designed. On one hand, embedded host shows real-time scene data through LCD OCM240128. On the other hand, based on the intelligent control of MCU STC89C52, the time to start heating device is determined by the collected moisture and temperature data. Finally, it transfers data via GPRS network and Internet to the public network server by the configured GPRS DTU ZWG-23A module. The client can monitor the temperature and humidity data by WEB.In order to verify the feasibility of the system, the system is tested under the environment of analogue rain and snow in the laboratory. The system achieves the functions of automatic heating cement-based road surface as well as remote client's real-time monitoring road surface, which has had the desired effect and confirms the feasibility of the system.
