With the economic developing and people's standard of living increasing, people on the house environment are increasingly high quality. Wherever people want to know what happens in the house in order to avoid unnecessary losses. It is precisely for this situation, the Security Monitoring System has been widespread concern, and it is hoped to develop to meet domestic demand and economic and reliable system.This paper designed a remote house security monitoring system based on MMS using modern technology, such as embedded control technology, image processing technology, MMS and other wireless communications. The system chooses Samsung's S3C2410 chip as CPU, using USB camera, GPRS modules and other hardware.The main function of the system is:when a robber enters the room or other unusual happens, which immediately triggers the camera to photograph the unusual circumstances occurs. After picture acquisition completed, this information has been sent to the microprocessor module and compressed into JPEG format images which is support by MMS data flow, and its packaging format in accordance with the standard MMS protocol package. This information has been sent to the GPRS cell phone via UART, and finally to the GPRS network via dial-up landing on and transmitted to the user phones, enabling users to real-time remote monitoring family situation.This paper introduces the status of house security, trends and social demand for the home security, and proposes the overall design of the wireless remote home security monitoring system based on MMS. Firstly, we design hardware circuit, including chip pins and performance parameters involved in the system, and so on. Based on embedded system software development platform, this system uses Linux operating system. The development board of this system transplants bootloader program, Linux kernel and file system. After, the system realizes the USB camera-based image acquisition, researches compression algorithm based DCT Transform lossy image, in-deeply analysis and studies the basic structure of the MMS.The key technology of the system design is encoding and sending MMS. MMS as a new type of image transmission, its outstanding features is support a variety of multimedia files, in addition to transmit the text but also support for images, audio, video and other multimedia format information. Remote monitoring system based on MMS, closes to people's demands for house security, and it is easy to realize.This paper analyzes the MMS working operations, architecture, and SMIL coding language, completes the MMS sending, thus further expanding the MMS applications.
