| Anhui News Awards is top comprehensive prize for outstanding news works in Anhui province. Approved by Anhui Provincial Propaganda Department and organized by Anhui Association of Journalists, Anhui News Prize started in 1984 and has experienced 26 sessions so far. As the top annual prize for news works in Anhui province, Anhui News Awards inspects and reflects the development situation of news works.To guarantee the typicalness and feasibility, this paper makes an objective, systematic and quantitative analysis of first-award works(in newspaper) from 1985 to 2008, changing the non-quantitative documents into quantitative data. In 1984, there were only Excellent Prize and no setting of first, second, third prizes. In 2009, during the writing period of this paper, Anhui News Awards hasn't yet been unveiled. Additionally, the first-award-winning works lists and related data in 2000 and 2002 are not available, so data of these two years are not included. Therefore,365 award-winning works of 22 years are adopted as samples.On the basis of evaluation method of China News Awards and in combination with Anhui conditions, Anhui News Awards plays a positive role in directing public opinions and makes great contributions to the development of news and propaganda cause in Anhui province. However, there are still some problems, such as too much emphasis on propaganda, unbalance development among regions, lack in supervision from public opinions, shortness of related academic research. The expected goals of this paper are to gather data and analyze them from multi-levels, namely, the genres, theme, inclination, distribution area, administrative level. Through the above analysis, this paper tries to find changes in forms and contents of news works as well as concepts of journalists and news media. Suggestions are offered for existing problems. |
