Railway running technology of rail truck is the key and the foundation of the realization of heavy goods speed and the ensurance of the quality of vehicle running.Assembly design is an important part of the product development and design process.With the rapid development of computer technology, in order to meet specific industry and specific product parametric design needs, universal CAD software usually requires some special features to add, that the secondary development of the software to improve the efficiency and quality of product design.This paper contains comprehensive and systematic research about Pro/E secondary development of methods, procedures, means and examples of development. In the basic of the K6 bogie vehicle model of Qiqihar car factory, the virtual assembly for the research and implementation has finished.The article includes the following research content:1. The analysis and calculation on the key parts of K6 bogie has been done.The expression of its technical requirements gap has been described. Study and discussion to gap value in the design process has been done in depth.2. Research the basic theory of Pro/E secondary development, including the concepts, principles, processes and some key technology and methods. And establish the Pro/E secondary development model on this basis.3. Several key technologies used in the system has been put forward, including interactive technology, feature modeling technology, parametric design technology and automatic assembly technology.4. In the dynamic link library (DLL) form, using contact interface between VC++ and Pro/Toolkit to analyze and establish the MFC project between the VC++and Pro/Toolkit. Describe the method of accessing information and the parts identification from Pro/E, and establishing the assembly model database.5. An integrated in Pro/E model for automatic assembly subsystem has been developed. The system design parameters, the model automatic generation of assembly, space technology required the expression of features with the K6 bogie model, Pro/E, VC++and Pro/Toolkit for the development of tools. Meet the requirements of the site.
