With the development of modern science and technology, living standard improved greatly and the new way of life keeps coming to the fore, so the requests of the clients to products has become more and more prone to diversification and individuation. What the companies face is the same dilemma, namely, meeting the individual requirement and shorting the delivery time of new products. To speed up the output of products is the only way for the enterprises. Providing enterprise a high-efficient product research tools is necessary, and it is indispensable to make sure the enterprises keep its predominance in the fierce market competition. As to the development of transformer industry, the higher requirement for transformer is also being proffered with due consideration of energy conservation, environmental protection and improvement of power supply's reliability. Also, the furious circumstance today forces the enterprise to use newer design method to improve the level of design, the quality of products and comprehensive performance index. Parametric design of transformer products coupled with CAD secondary development have great significance for transformer manufacturing enterprises to cope with drastic competition centered on market demand, it can shorten the period of transformer's design, reduce cost, improve quality and efficiency, can also make the enterprise satisfy request of client for the different needs, and truly realize the production of individualized product centered on customers And it can provide a powerful tool to help the enterprise to obtain initiative of marketing. In this paper, taking transformer's body as the object, and be coupled with theory and thought of CAD to research the method of transformer product parametric design. The main research is as follows:First of all, introduced techniques of CAD secondary development, studied the techniques and methods of secondary development for UG/NX, analyzed structural properties of transformer products and design flow, provided detailed introduction about parametric design process of transformer based on parametric design theories.Secondly, analyzing the method of adopting the parameter driving technology, and establishing the structure and assemblage model of transformer which can reflect it's design method and design rules, designing and establishing the data-base of modeling system. And taking the transformer body as the developmental object, three-dimensional modeling software of UG/NX 6.0 as developmental platform, Access as the database of storage for the parameters, Visual Studio 2008 as the developmental tools, then developing the parameterized design system for transformer.Finally, the system developed in the paper is applied to a High Power Phase Shift Transformer for the variable parameters design, the feasibility of the system is explained by using an example. The system has great flexibility, can reduce the amount of design work greatly and improve efficiency of design, can respond swiftly to the requirements of customers.
