Radar signal simulation and emulation are being played an important role in the design process of radar system, through the computer simulation it can be more convenient and intuitive to get the required signal model and the basic parameter settings. The principles and characteristics of the basic radar signal are described in this thesis, such as linear frequency modulated signal, phase encoding signal and echo signal. Research mainly based on the pulse compression signals theory to analysis pulse compression signals in different conditions (doppler frequency shift, window function) of the signal waveform. Based on the combination of linear frequency modulated signal and the phase encoding signal's waveform characteristics, we use the advantages of this combinative characteristic which have better anti-interference and distance velocity resolution, but there are some inadequacies. Echo signal is the more important practical application of signal model. Environment clutter and system noise are applied in this thesis in the signal simulation to determine the factors that affect the echo signal waveform. The linear frequency modulated signal are used as the emission source to test the target in the distance range, comparing and analyzing the echo signal, then we can get the conclusion that whether the target in the distance range or the target in movement can be affected by the echo waveform.
