Radar system simulation technology saves much money for the system's research, design and verification, and it also makes the radar system have good performance. Because the radar simulation technology has the characteristics of economy, flexibility, repeatability, portability and so on, it becomes a key technology in the research of the radar system and anti-electron jamming.Based on the research of XX radar software simulation system, this dissertation mainly discusses the design and application of its sub-systems: return signal generation and signal processing.The main content and work in this dissertation can be summarized as follows:1. This dissertation analyzes the characteristics of the density weighted antenna of the phased array radar which the software simulation system uses and studies the array distribution method and the weighted antenna method. It introduces the methods for modeling and simulation of the density weighted antenna of the radar. It builds the antenna pattern of the density weighted antenna, and it is simulated in computer. Finally, it gives some conclusion.2. An architecture of the return signal generation system is given, the models and the simulation methods are introduced in detail. The return signal generation system adopts coherent video echo signal to simulate the targets' return signal, noise and clutter. It adds the return signal of all scattering objects to simulate the return signal in the complicated scattering environment. In order to simulate return signal accurately, several models are adopted as follows: target waveform model, noise model, clutter model. It mainly studies the clutter backscatter coefficient, clutter amplitude distribution model, power spectrum distribution model and power computation method. Each of these models has been simulated.3. The algorithms of signal processing are studied, and a configuration of signal processing simulation system is put forward in this dissertation. It introduces some signal processing (SP) models and the simulation methods. It adopts several SP methods such as pulse compression, MTI, pulse accumulation , CFAR and amplitude-comparison angle measurement and the calibration measurement technology. The dissertation mainly studies the pulse compression, CFAR, ambiguity resolution and RCS extraction. It introduces the frequency domain and the time domain pulse compression methods and mainly studies the sidelobe suppression and partial pulse compression, and it also analyzes the simulation results; and in order to reduce the false alert ratio, it analyzes the Ordered Statistic CFAR (OS-CFAR) and 2D-OS-CFAR; it puts forward a new method to solve the multi-target ambiguity, which is compared with the residues' difference look-up table, the simulation results show the new method superior to the residues' difference look-up table; it adopts the calibration measurement technology to extract RCS and the measurement system block diagram is given, the simulation results show that the technology is effective.
