Wireless sensor network is a distributed sensing system, which can be widely used in a variety of fields such as environmental monitoring, military, and facility agriculture for its small and inexpensive sensor nodes, flexible deployment, and intelligence.Based on the project"Environmental information accurate monitoring and early warning system for greenhouse group", an embedded sink node was designed for the research object of greenhouse wireless sensor network. The sink node not only can serve as a management platform, but also can be worked as a transformation platform of communication protocols for greenhouse wireless sensor network and extern network such as Ethernet ,Internet and so on. The main contents of this paper are described below:1. With the investigation and analysis of the founctional requirements of sink node, this paper gave the collectivity design for sink node, and finished the selections of microprocessor, embedded RTOS and communication module.2. Sink node hardware platform was structured based on microprocessor S3C2410.The main hardware modules included microprocessor, memory, GPRS, human-computer interface, general Peripheral interface and power supply.Both the schematic and PCB of hardware circuit were desiged and tested.3. This paper analyzed the implementation principle and studied the architecture of WinCE, and then customized bootloader and WinCE kernel for the hardware platform of sink node.4. In order to manage greenhouse wireless sensor network effectively, the sink node management software was developed based on embedded database SQLite for sensor nodes administration, early warning of weather disaster.At the same time, the program for GPRS data transmission was also designed.Preliminary experimentations show that the systemmeets the requirements of greenhouse monitoring system and has the advantages of friendly human-machine interface flexibility, extensibility, flexible communication settings etc.
