With the continued growth of embedded system application, using high level processor as the core of high-performance embedded system, with Internet access capability of the embedded system will be the next stage of development. In order to realize the embedded network technology, first of all, the communication protocol between the various networks should be realized. TCP/IP protocol as a network protocol standard will be a huge boost in the embedded system. The communication protocol of internet requires high speed of computation and much memory. A large number of embedded systems with 8/16 bit and low-end 32 bit microcontroller core occupy a large market share. It is difficult to implement the TCP/IP protocol for these embedded systems.To solve the above problem, this paper gives a kind of embeddedμC/TCP-IP protocol implementation which is based on ARM. First, the article describes the development of embedded Internet technology; analysis of real-time operating systemμC/OS-II kernel structure, elaborated onμC/OS-II in the LPC2478 the migration process. Secondly, the paper analyzes PHILIPS company 's LPC2478 processor structure and characteristics of the completion of the underlying network interface chip DP83848C circuit design and configuration, provides a hardware platform for the operating system and the embedded systems migration of protocol stack. Finally, this paper focuses on the TCP/IP protocol stack implementation, including the realization of network interface hardware driven, the Ethernet interface modules and the realization of various protocol stacks. And this paper also gives the simple application of protocol stack in embedded systems.The analysis of LPC2478 series will help others with the learning and application of ARM7TDMI-S processor. The analysis ofμC/OS-II and the migration ofμC/OS-II in LPC2478 can also be used for other processors. The analysis and migration ofμC/TCP-IP protocol can also be used in future similar reference. On the ARM hardware platform, theμC/OS-II RTOS can realize the TCP/IP protocol stack, and this system can be applied to embedded system. So this system has a practical significance.
