The "two sessions" can be said to be a feast of democratic politics with Chinese characteristics, and many media elites are sent each year to give the "two sessions" all-round coverage. The thesis takes the "two sessions" report of "People's Daily,"Nanfang Daily","Guangzhou Daily" from 2001 to 2010 as sample, analyzes comprehensively the national, provincial and municipal traditional party newspaper's innovation report of the "two sessions", and observes the progress of democracy in China through the various details reflected in these reports.The thesis concludes that, there atre many innovations in the interactions between the newspapers and the internet, the angles of the reports, the reports of the bills and proposals, and the comments in the report of the "two sessions". The shortcomings of the report of the "two sessions" are that attention paid to the NPC members and the CPPCC members is not balanced, the procedural report of the "two sessions" are being modeled, and follow-up reports about the news after the "two sessions" closed are inadequate.To those symptoms, the thesis give improvement advice accordingly, and conclude that, the'two sessions" report should be more usual, strenghen the report of the NPC members and the CPPCC members, to make the "two sessions" report not only heated during the "two sessions" but also on usual days.Innovation of the research about the "two sessions" mainly lie on the selection of the samples and the angles of analysis. The thesis take the "two sessions" report of the CPC party organ from 2001 to 2010 as sample, having a strong representation; and the angles of analysis (?)re the innovation of the content and the angles about the "two sessions". In particular, the thesis also analyze deeply the interactions between the innovation of the "two sessions" and democracy in China.
