A Study On The Religious Report Of Party Organ In The New Period

In the past decades,Religious report has been an important part of news reports.People's Daily,as the organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,is the main news media of the party and government propaganda to publicize the national policies.Also,the religious report on this newspaper is the chief means of publicizingreligious policies in our country.Therefore,the study on the status and characteristics of religious reports of People's daily has a significant impact on the other official newspapers and social media.In this paper,the religious report represents the news report in which the religion,Buddhism,Islam and Christianity are report subjects.Specifically,it refers to the news report and the corresponding comments of the mentioned religions.The methods of content analysis and text analysis are used in this paper to investigate and analyze the religious reports of the People's Daily in the new period,from January 1979 to December 2016.In this period,a considerable number of the reports about religions on "People's Daily" appeared.In order to reduce research complexity,the key words are selected to be "religion","Buddhism","Islam" and "Christianity" when collecting materials.The religious reports on 1979,1983,1987,1991,1995,1999,2003,2007,2011 and 2015 are selected as total samples.Based on the content analysis,the category of “People's Daily” is constructed.Thestatus and characteristics of religious reports on this newspaper are analyzed andsummarized.The deficiencies of past religious reports are pointed out,and the corresponding countermeasures are proposed.
