Analysis And Evaluation Of Library Knowledge Management Capability

Now, many libraries introduce knowledge management theory and develop knowledge management activities. The process of library knowledge management can not be separated from the analysis and evaluation of knowledge management capability. Kinds, expand level and development space of knowledge management capability are main problems of library knowledge management.In this paper, library knowledge management capability is defined; combining with the library knowledge management process, the constituent elements and influencing factors of the library knowledge management capability are analyzed; evaluation system of library knowledge management capability is built, an empirical analysis of a public library is carried through to give a reference for the evaluation of library knowledge management. This study has the following aspects:(1) The knowledge flow and knowledge value chain of knowledge management theory are introduced, library knowledge management process is presented; the capability set analysis and capability maturity model are introduced, library knowledge capability maturity model is set up.(2) Library knowledge management capability is analyzed. Based on the knowledge flow and knowledge value chain, the constituent elements and influencing factors of library knowledge management capability are analyzed.(3) Library knowledge management capability is evaluated. Based on capability set theory and the maturity model, library knowledge capability maturity model is analyzed and evaluation system of library knowledge management capability is set up.(4) Library knowledge management capability is analyzed and evaluated empirically. Based on the established maturity model and evaluation system of library knowledge management capability, selecting certain public libraries as the object, this paper makes some evaluation and reaches the conclusion that the library is at the stage of four——knowledge management, it also proposes suggestions that libraries should improve the knowledge innovation capability and strengthen the knowledge capacity with the methods of questionnaire survey and literature review.In this paper, the study of library knowledge management capability is the cross and integration of the library management and knowledge management, a new idea for the research of library knowledge management is offered. Evaluation system is a development for knowledge management; evaluation system is a perfect way to improve knowledge management capability.
