In the past 20 years, the research on IT Infrastructure was increasingly concerned, it had been regarded as a kind of enterprise resource which could hardly be imitated, it was also be considered as potentially core competition of an enterprise. A great amount of investments were made on IT Infrastructure management, about its security, reliability and economy. Building on the results of previous studies, this research focus on designing IT Infrastructure Capability Maturity Model, which refers to framework of Capability Maturity Model, the rationality of the model was confirmed by empirical research at the end of the thesis. The thesis introduces the background of the study firstly, and sum up the results of investments made by previous scholars, then program the intention and main task of this thesis. In the next part of the thesis, the composition of IT Infrastructure is explained, and then the idea of designing IT Infrastructure Capability Maturity Model is presented according current the problems of IT Infrastructure operation, the significance of the Model is also made clear lately. The third part of the thesis analyzes the key point of the Capability Maturity Model, and explains its advantages theoretically. During the course of constructing the Capability Maturity Model, all kinds of activities of IT Infrastructure management were transferred to process management, therefore several processes of IT Infrastructure become the indexes of this model. The model is illustrated from the different ways, the framework of IT Infrastructure Capability Maturity Model is depicted in the fourth part of the thesis, and then the details of framework are explained step by step, all parts of the composition are exhibited before presenting the 6 processes of repeatable level. The next part of the thesis makes the empirical research on the survey of IT Infrastructure management that carried out in 2004, and the result of the study confirms the rationality of this model. The development perspective of the model is proposed at the last part of the thesis.
