The library knowledge management is a kind of advanced management idea in recent years. It's the inevitable trend of the development of library science. It's also a modern topic in library science. The library knowledge management means library take readers and the librarians as its main body, and takes knowledge and information as its object. The goal is to realize the knowledge value and innovate it. It also pays more attention to the knowledge increment and the reader's needs. The knowledge spiral theory belongs to the methods of knowledge management. It's used to describe the knowledge creating at first. This article borrows the research of knowledge spiral theory, takes the knowledge spiral as tool, and studies the course of the library knowledge management. The knowledge changes in knowledge acquiring, knowledge sharing, knowledge applying, and knowledge innovation. This article has a fresh standpoint, has detailed reference and representative case. It provides a brand-new angle for the present library knowledge management. The paper includes six parts. In the introduction part, it introduced the background of the paper, the research foundation, the research methods and the research contents. The author produces the entire article from the overall standpoint. Then brief narration knowledge and knowledge management, as well as knowledge management essential content--------the management of explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge. Under this basis, I will study the hot topic knowledge spiral theory. Carry on the careful discussion to the knowledge spiral and its transform model. Next, summarizes the concept of the library general management and the library knowledge management, and compares two model's similarities and differences. Once more, the author expatiates the content of the library management, including library knowledge management environment, methods, content and necessities. Among them, library knowledge management can be divided into two aspects: internal environment and external environment. The library knowledge management methods have learned a lot from the knowledge management. It also has its unique method. The library knowledge management includes five important aspects: the knowledge innovation management, the knowledge organization and diffusion management, the knowledge marketing management, the knowledge applying management, and the human resource management. The necessity of the library knowledge management is made of two parts: the necessity of the explicit knowledge management and the necessity of the tacit knowledge management. Finally, relates the library knowledge management in detail based on the knowledge spiral. It carries on the analysis from the four processes of knowledge management. This part includes four aspects: knowledge production with knowledge spiral, knowledge sharing with knowledge spiral, knowledge applying with knowledge spiral and knowledge innovation with knowledge spiral. At last, the author introduces the library of Singapore National University and the England Open University. They are successful cases for my viewpoint, and provide feasible proof for my paper. This article uses many research methods, such as analysis induction, standard analysis, comparison analysis, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and positive analysis. The author summarizes such conclusion: Every library should pay more attention to library knowledge management. And besides that, every library should take action to accelerate the library construction. In this process, the knowledge spiral theory could reflect the growth of knowledge directly. And it provides the science basis for the development of library knowledge management.
