The Practice And Research Of Quantitative Project Management For Software Development

In the past 20 years, the complexity of software development is growing fast, just because the scale of software system is more and more big. The people have bending themselves to thinking how to develop the software more scientific and more regulated.The author told us the task of software development should be managed as a project nowadays, the knowledge system of project management suggested by PMI and the CMMI architecture suggested by SEI have very important influence to modern software development activities.The quantitative project management discussed in this paper is a higer layer project management method. If we put the quantitative project management method discussed in this paper into practice, we could get the ability of our organization more clear, and estimate the schedule of software development more accurate, and get the final production according to Perception and expectation.The first, I have quoted two important theories, the knowledge system of project management and the CMMI architecture. Then I have advanced DMCS model, the DMCS model describes how to carry out the quantitative project management more efficient.The next I have pointed out the key factors which restrict the effective execution of quantitative project management.Finally, I have advanced the solution named TRR to solve the problems about quantitative project management discussed before. The TRR solution includes the following three issues: the 1st, to reducing the ability difference among software developers by regular organizational training; the 2nd, to reducing the chanciness in software development process by carry out the risk management policy; the 3rd, to ensure the process quality by executing peer auditing when any process has completed.I wish my paper chould give a very good practical advice to the software organizations who want to carry out quantitative project management more efficient.
