With the development of computer network, especially of Internet, its field in application becomes more and more widely, such that the modern distance education is a classic sample. Streaming media courseware system as part of long-distance education, has integrated real-time and non-real-time, who is complex, distribution and ensure the long-distance education has become a powerful accessional means and extension of traditional education. However, the streaming media courseware also has short even if it endows distance education enormous advantage, especially in individual learning. Therefore, the article provides the application of streaming media courseware which is based on knowledge points in distance education.Firstly, the article analyzes the present development and trend of distance education between home and abroad, and points the present application of the streaming media, emphasizes researching the application of streaming media courseware in distance education. Based on the demand of research, the author works hard in learning the asp.net, streaming media and their theory.Secondly, the teaching and learning of traditional streaming media courseware has some short, such as difficult to modify, lack in reuse, the importance and difficulty are not obvious, and so on. So, the author provides a new study mode of streaming media courseware which is based on knowledge points.Thirdly, the article gives the total design goal of the system, and the total structure, then achieves the main function of the system.Final paper for the work carried out summary, and indicated the streaming media courseware further research directions.
