Risk Management In DVR STB Project

Cisco introduced DVR STB product which was popular at US and European into China market. Cisco may cumulate experience for WEB3.0 application via DVR STB application. The author studied the risk management in DVR STB project and summarized the research results in this field at the first part of paper. The project management team adopted brainstorming and expert investigation, and then got two class risk factors. Class one risk factors: policy risk, capital risk, technical risk, management risk and progress risk.Qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis were used at project risk evaluation. The author analyzed project aims and terms via qualitative analysis. Using SWOT method, project management can make sure competitive advantages and disadvantages at interior and exterior company. Decision tree quantitative risk analysis was used for localization development outsourcing risk evaluation. All risks were studied via risk quantitative matrix.Flexibly adopting risk acceptance, risk avoidance, risk mitigation, risk transference and risk prevent, the project management proposed relevant decision suggestion. The author listed main risks in DVR STB project. Also the author described effective methods and management strategies at specific project risks. DVR STB project is carried out on the track according to those risk management technologies.
