The purpose is to design effective hard disc driver's assembly workshop layout, high load coefficient rework line and lean material transfer system. I- ntroduce layout method, lean manufacturing concept and character, and lean material transfer method. With the guide line of lean concept, decides how much area rework line need by using SLP method and analysis on produ- ct's process. Calculates the material flow and relationship among these units by analyzing hard disc driver production quantity combining workshop actual c- ondition, then decides the workshop layout. As for rework line design, starts with cycle time of customer demand and process study. With guide line of le- an concept, then use W.B.Helgeson-D.P.Birnie method to balance the rework line and get well balanced result of the load coefficient of the rework line wi- th 95.1%, and line also has the high flexibility.Base on lean production concept, designs material transfer system using lean transfer method, and design Kanban systems with actual requirement of company operation. One is withdrawal Kanban, used for pull material from warehouse, the other one is direct Kanban for rework parts. Then decide where to put the material storage controlled by Kanban, this is part of the facility design. At last, verify the results of the facility design, rework line design and material transfer system from two aspects of lean, they are shop-floor area needed for rework each product and inventory rate. The results show that they are very good so that they all get the expected result.
