Research Of Educational Resource Grid Portal Based On GridSphere

Grid computing is a new technology which appears in recent years.A grid system can make the distributed resources be furthest used and shared.Grid Portal is a Web based application that providing content aggregation from different grid resources and grid services.Grid portal provided the user with friendly interface,consistent operation way and efficient mechanism to facilitate access by shielding the complex internal structure of the grid.The user can easily use the grid system services through Grid Portal. Putting the scattered education resources together with the idea of grid can achieve the function of elimination of the "information island". The user can share the educational resources easily and effectively through accessing the Educational Resources Grid Portal(ERGP).Most of the recent grid portals are static interface.Users can not customize the interface of the portal according to their own needs.In this paper, the dynamic and customizable portal interface based portlet is given out.Users can customize the interface of the portal according to their own hobbies.In the course of the study of the ERGP,some questions are discovered and resolved,such as the management of portal users,the security of the grid and the management of edcational resources under the grid environment etc.The main work of the paper is summed up as follows:①The related knowledge and the current research status of grid and gird portal are given out,especially the three types architecture of grid and the JSR168 specification.②The comparative analysis of current main grid portal development tools(GPDK,JetSpeed&GridSphere)is made.The paper select GridSphere as the development tool of the ERGP based on 5 performance indicators.③Considering the feature of edcational resources under grid environment, the detailed analysis and design of the ERGP are made.The needs analysis, basic functions and architecture of ERGP, is given out.④The paper analyze the security needs of the ERGP. Based on GSI and RBAC,the paper make a in-depth study on the access security and design a grid security component which have functions of portal user permission management and resource access control.Finally,the paper implement the separation between grid portal and grid node.⑤The paper analyze the user management component and the educationl resources service componet of the ERGP in detail.⑥Build the development platform to implement the prototype of the ERGP.⑦Finally,summarize the research achievements and shortcomings of the paper.
