Grid is a development direction of current parallel and distributed processing technology, whose goal is to realize massive heterogeneous resources sharing from widespread distribution in geography. Along with concept of grid technology and grid service gradually maturing, encapsulating grid resources by the way of"service"has already become a tendency, and obtained unanimous approval of the grid community. Service grid is a kind of general grid, service-oriented, the core of which is to express all heterogeneous resources in grid with services of service-oriented architecture SOA. The present grid technology is always hard to study and utilize for the general users. Therefore, a portal based on grid technology that has a convenient user interface is needed. It can make users interact with complex first-floor grid tools and services using standard Web browsers, and is a good solution to problems above. This paper analyses the service grid portal based on related research of grid and portal. On above, the first part of the paper researches how to build a service grid portal on the basis of GridSphere, which takes the educational resource grid as the base. The portal provides every kind of operation to resources in the form of grid services, and users can customize different grid services through this portal. On the other hand, the paper discusses overall architecture of the educational resource service grid portal thoroughly, designs and realizes the portlets including different grid services, and proposes the related strategies of portal security, resource description, resource retrieve and other questions in the service grid portal. Finally, the paper introduces the building process of the service grid portal, and analysis its function and performance of the grid service. On the basis of predecessor's work, the main research work and innovates of the paper can be described as follows:(1) The paper studies the concept, the architecture, the function characteristic, the research project of grid as well as the related technique of grid portal, compares to the different grid portal development kits, Taking the maturing portal technology as reference, inquires fast and flexible solutions to build grid service portal, which enable development fastly, deployment flexible and update of the grid service portal.(2) The paper discusses superiority of developing grid portal based on the way of the portlets, designs overall architecture of the grid service portal and core portlets, and analysis to each module.(3) The paper analyzes limitation of OTP guard strategy in the grid portal, proposes security strategy of grid service portal based on the IP limit; It studies resource description language in grid thoroughly, proposes educational resource description method based on the RDF, which can give the detail description to the educational resource and describe educational resource in grid more generally, accurately, and intelligently.(4) To enhance the match rate of the search, it proposes personalized educational resource demand description mechanism based on XML , strengthens support to the educational resource demand description by the resource demand subscribers, increases sorting mechanism of personalized preferences by educational resource demand as well as the expression mechanism of related personalized anticipation, which can carry on the optimization to the search results by the priority order according to degree of the personalized preferences, provide the powerful support to implement pertinence optimization scheduling of resource.(5) It introduces the process of building grid service portal, realizes grid service portal prototype system ERGRID based on portlet component, and developed the major function module: resource transmission, resource description, resources search, resources preview, node monitoring and so on. Users can customize different portlets to employ different grid service. According to the function testing and the performance analysis of ERGRID, it finally indicates that the overall architecture of the grid service portal proposed in this paper is feasible.
