Knowledge Management In The New Product Development Of Thermal Component For Electonic Product

New Product Development (NPD) is the foundation of enterprise to create profit. However, due to plenty of information indeterminations, the enterprise must devote to strengthening its capability to manage the information. Therefore, knowledge management is one of the capabilities need to be set up urgently in NPD for modern enterprises.This thesis is based on a case study to solve the problem in NPD of HPD Division which is a subsidiary of F Company. The problem importance and seriousness are collected and analyzed through questionnaire survey, and the priority of problem improvement is ranked according to the analysis result. Finally, base on the KM model in NPD combined with the research achievements of related literature; take the Vapor Chamber NPD as the sample to evaluate the NPD performance after KM system implementation.The main achievements of this study are as below:1. The NPD procedure is able to systemically sort and save all the personal and collective data produced in the process of developing. It is the foundation of KM system, and the input/output and the responsibility must be defined clearly at all stages.2. To implement KM in NPD effectively, the below may be considered:①Reinforce the control of knowledge activity, including improving the ability of knowledge application, enhance training and communication.②Strengthen the mechanism of knowledge activity, such as content rebuilding of knowledge repository, all-around using of Information technology, setting of enterprise culture and promotion mechanism, and KM team-work spirit building.3. During the qualitative evaluation of NPD performance, it shows that the KM positively influences on the supplementation of Explicit Knowledge, the substantiation of technology knowledge, the development of technology communication and the rapid crosswise communication.4. During the quantitative evaluation of NPD performance, the KM has the positive influence on technologic index, managerial index and commodity index.This thesis is a real case study of KM implementation in NPD. The achievements of this thesis can be taken for enterprise's reference to do KM study and practice in NPD.
