As a result of improvement of vehicle emissions, energy saving, safety and comfort, automotive electronic control is becoming better and better. Automotive electronic control device must quickly and accurately handle a variety of information, and display through the instrument so that the driver has sufficient time to understand and master the operation of motor vehicles, and properly handle the various situations.In this paper, instrument panel of shanghai automotive Rongwei 550 is the studying object, its speedometer , its fuel table and thermometer are improved. The article puts forward an automotive instrument design of ARM + Linux + MiniGUI, and the program is carried out systematic and comprehensive analysis and design.First of all, the paper gives the background and significance of topics, discusses the current situations and development trends of automotive instrument, and gives the research content of this article. The system's overall design program is put forward by analyzing the characteristics of improved instrument panel.Secondly, the hardware and software platform of instrument are introduced, the hardware platform involves the choice of the host controller, memory circuits and so on; the software platform involves building embedded Linux development platform, as well as the development of drivers. Finally, the improved instrument panel user interface design is introduced in detail, including describing several commonly embedded GUI, the establishment of host development environment, developing applications through the use of MiniGUI. Several hardware and software anti-jamming technologies are introduced simply.In this paper, we use reasonable and user-friendly design to Rongwei 550 automotive instrument through the use of sensor technology,CAN Bus and embedded technology. The results show that the improved instrument is not only avoiding low accuracy and poor reliability, but also with high precision, high intelligence, and good scalability.
