With the rapid development of the computer and network technology, the development based on the embedded technology involves in various domains quickly. In the embedded system, the embedded processors based on ARM become the mainstream in the market now. From the new instrument bus standard LXI be published in 2005, it becomes the current research hotspot. Under this condition, embedded LXI multifunctional instrument is presented. The aim of the paper is to research and implement the application of the embedded LXI multifunctional instrument on the S3C2410 hardware platform which is based on ARM9, also to research and implement the functional modules interfaces of the multifunctional instrument, which makes the communication between human and instrument much flexible.The paper introduces the development course of the embedded system and character of LXI bus technology and also the perfomance of the ARM microprocessor. The explantment of the Linux system to the hardware paltform based on ARM9 and the establishment of the across-complie environment for the embedded system devlopment are completed in the paper. After introducing and comparing the popular software used for the embedded system graphics, MiniGUI is decided to be used in this paper to develop the instrument interfaces. In this paper MiniGUI is explanted to the hardware platform successfully and the basic process of the graphics application development is also introduced, on which basic the instrument interfaces according to the main functional modules, that is, data collection and digital oscillograph, multimeter and cymometer, are researched and implemented. At the same time, the paper validates the dependability of the hardware and software designed for the LXI multifunctional instrument platform.
