With the publication of licenses for mobile 3G, mobile operators are building a large-scale R4 network. In the R4 network, core network used soft switch technology, separated the control and bearer. MSC server accesses another MSC server through BICC signaling, MGW accesses another MGW through TDM/ATM/IP. At present, China Mobile 2G PRBT network used the way of caller switch trigger, PRBT platform connects switch directly or through a Tandem Board, signaling share the road with the data. In the 3G R4 Network, it also used the way of caller switch trigger, but if the data separated from signaling.This thesis analyses the background in which the 3G network and the IP-based PRBT service, and on the basis gives the realization of media server module in IP-based PRBT System, and given the specific design and implementation. Media server is one of the core modules in PRBT system, the contents are as follows:(1) In-depth study and discussion of the R4 network and VoIP voice service, especially concerning how to realize the PRBT service in R4 network.(2) Introducing the IP-based PRBT service as well as the function of media server in PRBT and putting forward how to realize media server module of PRBT system.(3) Giving the design of IP-based media server in PRBT system and the design and implementation of various task modules. Discussing the operational mode of PRBT in R4 networks, according to the characteristics of IP-based PRBT service, establishing the overall framework of media server part in PRBT system and designing the functional interface between the media server part and the other modules. Discussing the specific process of the IP-based PRBT system and the implementation of media server in detail, as well as the procedure structure of media server module.(4) Design and implement a set of route mechanism to ensure credibility passing between media server part and other modules, introducing the message interface to MSC Server and to another MGW.This system will bring huge profits for R4 operators, but also generate tremendous social benefits. This essay refers to the studying of PRBT system in R4 network, the research of media server, the design and implemention of multi-thread program.
