The Media Server Based On The Integration Of The Sip Protocol Design And Realization

Softswitch , which is the base of NGN(Next Generation Network) ,separatesservices from call control,also separates call control from bearing.It can providerelatively independent service architecture with opening APIs,and support moremedia services with different bandwidth , real time services or non?real timeservices . Media Server is one of the key equipments in NGN to providevalue.added services.It is under the control of Application Server to provideadvanced media manipulations for the media session based on packet—swithingnetwork.As Media Server is similar to IP(Intelligent Peripheral)in IN(IntelligentNetwork),and IN will still have a great development space in the future,SO,Convergent Media Server is proposed.It can provide media manipulations inboth circuit—swithing network and packet?swithing network.The protocol Media Server used includes:SIP,H.248,MGCP,RTP/RTCP,SDP,and etc.SIP,SDP and RTP/RTCP protocols are described in details in thispaper.In this pape~a feasible project is put forward implementing ConvergentMedia Serve~The software and hardware architecture of Convergent MediaServer are discussed then,some problems such as high availability,security,anddistributing structure are also discussed and resolved.The system provides agood layered structure and a good solution to be integrated the exist system?Atlast,it introduces how to develop the basic function of Convergent Media Serverand discusses the next work to be done.
