With the development of China's TV industry and the awakening of feminist consciousness, female television talk shows are produced and flourish during these years. Female TV talk shows reflect the modern life of women and the state of their survival, create a large number of representative female images, welcome by many people, and become very popular.Concerning and serving woman, are the aim of these professional TV show. Do they still have the phenomenon of sexual discrimination or stereotype of woman? What we will discuss are the ideas of gender, the images of women, and the reasons behind the old rules of paternity which results in the phenomenon in Female TV programs.This paper takes an overview of development and latest situation of the media study of feminist and the female television program in the West and China. Two representative talk shows, "Half the Sky" and "All Women", are used as the main cases to research the agenda , styles of female figures and the ways of narrating. After analyzing the program, the findings are as follows: "Half the Sky" presents the private fields of normal woman, three female figures styles which are Dimu, Baimaolv, and Mugvying, narrates by motional story. "All Women" discusses many topics about superstars and white-collars, divides four styles city beauties, and narrates by superstars and beauties. There are text conflicts in these two TV shows: "Half the Sky" is influenced by state Ideology, "All Women" by Consumerism.After analyzing the text by quantification and quality approaches and comparing cross-sectionally the female TV program, the conclusion is: On one hand, women TV talk shows have created a division in the mainstream media and commercial media. The mainstream media try to adhere to gender awareness but stepping forward is difficult. The commercial media weakens the sense of gender equality by the impact of Consumerism. On the other hand, the contents and images hide behind various idea of patriarchy. The reasons are that the strong conflicts in the text of the program, reflecting the power struggle, leading them into a survival predicament.The introduction firstly describes the reason of choosing to research the female talk show, and it discusses the general situation research of feminist television studies in China and foreign countries ,the present domestic study conditions and some shortages of this female TV talk show. In the last part of the introduction, the research approaches, innovative idea, and the frame of this paper are presented.Chapter 1 is a macro-description, which includes the current survey of feminism and TV media, the development of female TV talk shows in the west and China. Then it points out the theoretical value and practical significance on it.Chapter 2 studies women TV topical program, taking "Half the Sky" of CCTV as case. It comprises 3 sections: the subject matter, female image, and narrative strategy. The conclusion is: "Half the Sky", in their contents, advocates the consciousness of independence and self-improvement of both the new women of the times and normal women , has no obvious sexual discrimination. However , the cancellation of "the Record of Women ", the images who live in the private sector in regular program all mean that stereotype of gender is still hidden behind the text of TV shows.Chapter 3 studies women TV topical program, taking "All Women" of Hunan TV as case. It also comprises 3 sections: the subject matter, female image, and narrative strategy. The conclusion of chapter 3 mainly shows the situation of City Beauty. The ways of narrative is expressed by the superstar and beauty. This is influenced by market-oriented running system, tendency of Consumerism and Beauty Culture. The commercial features are so apparent that have an inclination of value of gender to a certain extent.Chapter 4 analyzes the commonness and difference of the mainstream and commercial TV talk shows, and then depicts the whole prospect. After that, compares them with typical American female TV talk show and points out the disparity between both of them, and then demonstrates the survival predicament behind the conflict of text. At last, it searchers for a way out of such programs in the light of the present situation and question of Chinese television, which is the development of female TV talk shows must jump out of patriarchal bondage on the basis of coordinating in a variety of forces, to show women by the true gender equality angle, to create better programs which are high quality and well-known .
