Application Study Of OGSA Grid Services On The Maritime Information System

As the Chinese shipping develops,the port enterprises and many maritime administrations have much more works to supervise the ships.Systems such as CCTV, VTS,AIS,VHF,etc.are widely used in the supervision of ship safety and ship pollution prevention.But these systems are relatively independent and difficult to share informations with each other.In addition,data can hardly exchange between the management information systems developed by different departments of the marine board alone,and the overlap of different systems is redundancy,thereby,the informations solitary island and the resources solitary island are caused by them. Especially in VTS,the vessel traffic management informations are also noticed by some relevant departments,such as ship agents,Customs,Border Protection,logistics and other departments or industries.In tendency of integrating the national maritime business informations,we use OGSA grid services to achieve sharing of the information systems which center on the VTS dynamic management.OGSA grid services provide new ideas and methods for us.These services aim at achieving high-performance resource sharing and cooperation in the virtual network environment and eliminating the informations solitary island and the resources solitary island.This thesis bases on the concept of grid,and it is in the background of the share of the information systems which center on the VTS dynamic management.According to the current situation of VTS and the dynamic vessel management system now we use, this thesis describes the design philosophy,the physical architecture and the logical architecture of the dynamic vessel management system on base of OGSA(Open Grid Services Architecture).It aims at sharing the dynamic vessel informations and integrate the national maritime business informations.According to the operation flow of the system,we use Globus Toolkit 4 and OGSA-DAI(Open Grid Services Architecture Data Access and Integration) to realize the grid prototype system which achieves the share of the information systems center on VTS.This system simulates the dynamic vessel management system which is the node of the grid to provide the data for other systems and share the dynamic vessel informations.Finally it tests the system in systems and share the dynamic vessel informations.Finally it tests the system in experimental environment.This prototype system proves it is possible to use OGSA Grid Services in the maritime information systems,and share the vessel traffic management informations absolutely.The prototype system also lays the foundation for integrating the national maritime informations.
