Grid information service is the core of grid system. Its goal is to connect and integrate various distributed and heterogeneous high-performance computers through high-speed Internet. The GIS provides uniform access to grid data storage resources. It is also convient for users to find, access and deal with information.With the development of the information service on the Internet, how to realize sharing information resource, which comes from various data sources, through grid system and how to improve the information service quality by using grid, have became hot topic of the current research. The Web Service Resource Framework is the latest implementation of Open Grid Service Architecture specification. It causes the Globus grid technology and the Web service technology fuses together thoroughly, and can realize comprehensive sharing all resources in the network. Therefore, the research of using the WSRF technology architecture to realize information service system based on the OGSA grid environment has strong application value.Firstly, in this paper the structure and function of GIS system are discussed in details, and the shortages of existent GIS model are analyzed and compared. Secondly, through introducing the WSRF technology architecture, a new grid information service system structural model based on the OGSA is proposed. Then its basic principles, structure and each part' s main functions are analyzed and studied. Several essential technical problem solutions of the information service system are discussed in details. Finally a prototype of grid message service system with functions of the service registration, publishment and call is implemented, and the implementation processes of WS-Resource programming, the notification mechanism and the information service are described. This system is established on the WSRF, the latest Globus technology specification, and the GT4, a completeimplementation of the WSRF specification. That enables it to have good performance on grid information index and inquiry, and can adapt the grid change characteristic dynamically. It provides a more direct and more consistent grid information access interface, and the more flexible information service operation for the user. So, it has the features of suppleness, platform-independence and extensibility. The research and the implementation work of in this paper are a new research subject on current grid information service system. They shed new thoughts and plans for relevant research.
