With the unceasing development of computer network communication technology and multimedia technology,IP network has become multimedia network(including image,sound, video and data) from a single data transmission.Especially the streaming media technology comes into being so that the streaming media has been widely used as a brand-new media transmission method.Because streaming media has not only the high bandwidth requirements, but also the requirement of information transmission's low latency,low jitter and low packet loss rate,etc,there are control requirements different from IP network application in pure data on the Quality of Service(QoS).Streaming media application is the future development direction,from the worldwide mainstream,streaming media communication system based on IP network will dominate.In such circumstances,the QoS based on IP network,which goal is to improve the utilization rate of network resources and provide users with higher quality service,will be a hot issue in computer science.This paper details the streaming media and the related theory of the QoS,and analyses control management,negotiation and connecting mechanism of the QoS.It also introduces the development situation of streaming media technology QoS supporting IP network.The author studied fully and compared the system structure,working principle and realization mechanism, the advantages and disadvantages of the QoS streaming media service model of several typical(IntServ,DiffServ and MPLS) according to IP network IETF.And from comparison research on IntServ + DiffServ model combined by the first two kinds of models,the author found some common problems of the typical model.On the above existing problems of several typical models and the similarity of MPLS and DiffServ,MPLS_DiffServ service model structure was designed.By analyzing and demonstrating some problems such as the support of PHB to MPLS,packet forwarding processing and application of RSVP problems,the paper illustrates that the superiority of MPLS_DiffServ service in streaming media QoS and it can improve the transmission efficiency of streaming media IP network.The paper has higher theoretical significance and application value.
