Computer-on-a-Chip(CoC) integrates ICs which distributed on the personal computer mainboard into a single chip as many as possible.This technical renovation brings the computer hardware system with better performance,lighter weight,smaller volume and lower power consumption.Display interface design based on the CoC has lots of positive meaning for expanding the CoC theory,completing the system architecture and achiving human-computer interaction in CoC.Researches in this dissertation are based on the project of the 8086 Computer-on-a-Chip.Based on the IP/SoC design methodology and the computer architecture with 8086 CPU,this dissertation constructs a test equipment for CoC.Further more,this dissertation designs one display interface module based on the CoC platform with the display technology in computer.Then,the integration and verification of this functional circuit is performed on 8086 Computer-on-a-Chip platform.The main works and achievements of this dissertation are as follows:1.Building an 8086 Computer-on-a-Chip simulation platform based on the research of CoC theory;2.Based on the 8086 CoC platform,designing and integrating the display interface, which include the DMA transmission channel,SDRAM for storaging graphic data and VGA display port;3.Completing RTL-level simulation of this display interface module based on the 8086 CoC platform;4.Designing experiments for display interface based on the 8086 CoC platform, and the whole system FPGA prototype verification is performed on the Altera DE2 evaluation board.
