The everyday development of IC industry and the continuous improving of IC design methodology are interdetermined. With the development of science and technology, semiconductor manufacturing process enters into Very Deep Sub-Micron era. It is possible of intergrating more than million transistors into a single chip. Nowadays chip vendors aim at area minimization and function maximization. The research on the Very Deep Sub-Micron theory and technology of IP core design are concerned by both research society and industry world. The System on a Chip becomes the main trend. In despite of SoC being provided with many merits, much new challenge of IC design and verification is brought by it.The research content of this dissertation is "The Reseach based on 8086 Single-Chip PC Design Technology". The main work and achievements are as follows:1. Based on the IC design methodology, this dissertation introduces the key technique of SoC design and verification, the challenge of SoC design and verification, the integration and reuse of IP soft core.2. Based on the analysis of the standard Intel 8086 microprocessor, this dissertation introduces the design of one kind of 16-bit MPU IP soft core, which is reusable and instruction set compatible with standard Intel 8086. From the partition of processor architecture to the design of instruction set and various interior units, the design is elaborated in detail and software simulation is fulfilled.3. This dissertation builds the minimum set of 8086 Single-Chip PC and the FPGA hardware emulation is fulfilled.
