After decades of development, the infrared imaging technology has been widely used in night vision, medical diagnostics, military, security monitoring and many other fields. However, the factor of cost limits the applications fields that are sensitive to the infrared imaging system. Based on such a status, I design the infrared imaging system that is low-cost and structure-opening in the paper. The system has the following advantages: firstly, it is low cost, so it can meet the need of the cost restrictions on the research filed, such as basic research; secondly, it is flexibility, because of the structure- opening, it can be controlled to complete the functions that are designed by users.Infrared imaging system has the characters of high noise, low contrast, large amounts of data, etc. The urgent difficulty of the paper to be solved is to settle the quality of imaging and the real-time issue of the system. To solve these issues, I choose DSP and FPGA to be my core processors in the paper. As a new image processing technology, the combination of DSP and FPGA can complement each other: on the one hand, DSP can improve the imaging results of system by fast processing capacity; on the other hand, FPGA can improve the real-time of the system by its own parallel processing capacity. The infrared imaging system designed in the paper has the functions of data collecting, storing, processing and displaying. It has a wealth of peripheral interfaces, such as USB, MMC / SD card, TFTLCD, which not only can provide a various ways of image displaying, but also provide a vast space for image storing and processing.I introduce detailly the technology of how to realize infrared imaging in the paper, and I summarize the article and put forward my expectation. It establishes a good foundation of my further study in the future.
