Product conception design processes comprise highly creative and knowledge-intensive tasks that involve extensive information exchange and communication among distributed teams. In such dynamic settings, traditional information management systems fail to provide adequate support due to their shortage of function semantics, as well as their restricted ability to integrate process and product information. In this paper, AD-FPS module oriented to product-development process was proposed as a means to provide a knowledge management and integration platform for such design processes. Product AD-FPS model as design result don't only represent design solution on the product-development process, but also is knowledge container for product design.By constructing the AD -TRIZ conception innovative design model based on AD and TRIZ , This paper resolved the shortcoming of AD design process on dealing with the confliction and improved the innovative of product development. The integration of AD / TRIZ and FPS made the mapping of the AD more intelligent and automotive and it combined product conceptual innovation design with rapid modeling. In the last, an AD-FPS/TRIZ module based on ontology theory was build, so that the integration of product conception innovation design process and knowledge and information management was achieved, and product design knowledge was expressed, storage, shared and used.This paper focused on the studies and made the achievements in the following areas:(1) The design of product concept innovationThis paper expounded the concept,the type and the research of concept innovative design. This paper analyzed the product functional modeling, the process of mapping between the structure and function and analyzed the important role of knowledge management in the product innovation design.(2) This paper put forward a module based on TRIZ and AD oriented to product concept innovative design process. Through comparative study of the advantages and disadvantages of AD and TRIZ in the product conceptual design and application features. This paper researched possibility of the integration of TRIZ and AD on the conceptual design process modeling; at last, proposed integrated design process.(3) This paper proposed a AD-FPS product representation model, and analyzed the strengths and weaknesses in the design process for the concept design information modeling on AD or FPS expression, then combined the two theories and constructed the module. At last, integrated with TRIZ theory, a product develop and conception information modeling framework based on AD-FPS/TRIZ was proposed(4) This paper put forward an oriented to products connectional innovative design knowledge and information modeling framework of the AD-FPS model based on ontology. The conception innovation development process and knowledge management were integerated.The paper described the classes and attributes of the AD-FPS model in the OWL ontology language.(5) This paper established several ontology knowledge warehouses based on the module. The protege was used as ontology development tool to develop a conceptual design system, which includes FPS ontology warehouse, AD ontology warehouse and TRIZ innovation ontology warehouse. Finally, an application of the AD-FPS/TRIZ ontology module was given, which was about the concept design development of security the steering column.
