The Study Of Open Access Journals Based On Citation Analysis

Open access is a new academic exchange's idea or mechanism under the network environment.As one of open access' implementation pattern,the Open access journals can promote the academic exchange.Compared to the traditional publishing model,the basic feature of open access journal is "authors paying for publishing and readers free for using." Tthrough the wide dissemination and sharing of research results anyone at any time and any place can get academic results for equal and free.However,since open access journal comes out,the people always suspecte its value and the survivability.The people cannot conduct the research from all aspects of the open access journal,also there are a littele people participate in the open access journal research.If we can know the open access journal existing quality and the influence thoroughly,not only has the advantage to the open access journal's development,but also expands the academic exchanges scope and enhances the academic exchanges effect.This thesis conducted the citation empirical research on the open access journal,contrasted the quality and the influence between the open access journal and the traditional journal,found out the favorable factors and the chief obstacle of open access journal through qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,at last proposed some development strategies.The thesis includes six parts as follows:Chapter 1,introduced the background and analyzed the present research situation,and gave the content frame.Chapter 2,it gave out the definitions of open access and open access journal,based on this discussed the Chinese translation of the Open Access Journal,induced the opening access journal resources system,the present main several famous OA periodical origin and the characteristic,it discipline distribution and region distribution.Chapter 3,it carries on the citation analysis to the opening access journal including its origin,the cited situation the IF,the discipline place and so on.Simultaneously,it unifies its gain degree to analysis,which revealed open access journal' overall quality and influence.Chapter 4,this chapter contrasted the average the frequency,the Impact Factor,the Cited Half Life and so on.between the opening access journal and the traditional journal.Chapter 5,proposed some strategies about the development of the opening access journal. Through the upper chaper' research this chaper analyzed opening access journal's favorable factor and the chief obstacle,and proposed some OAJ development strategies.Chapter 6,Summary and forecast.
