The Influence Of Journal Development On The Journal Resources Construction

Among the various work of a library, the resource construction is always given great attention to by both readers and the library staff. And as one of the foundations of library work, the libraries spend quite amount of its funds on it. So how to improve the rationality of the resource structure and using rate of resources becomes a heated topic of librarians. The article will put emphasis on the structure distributing and speciality allocating of the collected journals.The journal resource construction has a close connection with the development of the journal publications. The research aims at finding the influence of the journal publication to the journal collections of the library by means of analyzing the background of the take-off of journal publication, ten principal laws influencing the development of journal publication, ten groups of readers of journals, the development of the female journals, the changing of journal markets from the needs of readers. The paper takes Changchun library as example to analyze the influence on the collections structures, and find that the influences on the readers and their needs as well as on the whole journal resource construction of the public libraries in the main north-east cities, including Changchun, Harbin, Shenyang and Dalian.The research includes the study and analysis on the journal publication as from 1996 to 2005, analysis on the hot publication, the influence on public libraries, and the influence on the journal resource construction of public libraries in Changchun, Harbin, Shenyang, and Dalian.The author adopts the following methods to conduct her research.1.Material searching and reading The author had a general idea of the journal publication and hot publication.2.Investigation and survey The author visited three public libraries in Harbin, Shenyang, Dalian as well as took Changchun Library as an example to analyzing the structure and needs of the readers.The features and innovation of the research lie on building a collaborative journal collection system in big-sized and middle-sized public libraries.
