With the development of social economy, the cargo throughput of port terminals is increasing. As a vital handing machinery of port terminals, portal jib crane plays an important role. In order to improve the effectiveness of the enterprises, new requirements which refer to the portal jib crane operators' performance appraisal are figured out. It hopes that apply an appraisal method which directly correspond with the performance of the portal crane drivers to encourage drivers' enthusiasm of production. First of all, in order to save costs and achieve equity, there is an urgent need for equipment which can record the operating information of portal crane completely. Secondly, a set of software which can gather and transform the operating data of portal crane, and complete the performance appraisal of the portal crane drivers through the database technology should be developed simultaneously. This paper bases on these actual conditions, combines with the mechanical management of bulk terminal, synthetically applies the embedded technology, object oriented visual programming techniques and relational database technology, to study the performance appraisal system of portal jib crane of the port terminals.Firstly, this paper deeply studies the current situation and future development of the portal crane monitor and control system and embedded system at home and abroad, and analyzes the actual situations and facing problems of an operating site of one portal crane group fleet under a port enterprise.Secondly, this paper figures out some effective promotional strategy bases on the unreasonable situation of the portal crane operators' performance appraisal, promotes the portal crane operators' performance appraisal strategy which bases on the cumulative number of the operating. According to it, this paper designes a set of portal crane performance appraisal system, makes a detailed description of the system working processes and principles, and introduces the realization and installation of the main function modules in detail.On this basis, the paper makes an exhaustive introduction of the hardware circuit principles about the key modules in the portal crane operating recording equipment. From the purpose of satisfying the system function and reducing power consumption, carefully selectes the components, and designes all parts of the hardware concretely and discusses the anti-interference measures of the system. In order to simplify procedures for the portal crane operating recording equipment application, the paper transplantes theμC/OS-II operating system, compiles the driving program, and designes the main task function of the system.Combines with the function of portal crane operating recording equipments and the requirement of portal crane operators' performance appraisal system, the paper also introduces the portal crane performance appraisal software which bases on the MICROSOFT SQL2005 database, VC++6.0 and crystal report technology, and makes a exhaustive direction of the functional structure design of the software, the database design and the realization of reporting function.Finally, this paper summarizes the work of the whole design, and pointes out other issues to be studied in depth and focus of future work.
