Nowadays, the performance appraisal system used in the field of life insurance is still traditional, which can only to complete the calculation of statistical index, there is an urgent need for a performance system which is developed by professional business intelligence tools and intelligent and efficient. This system can help completing performance appraisal, analysing index and to realizing the strategic direction.First the status of life insurance performance evaluation and the existing problems are discussed, the necessity of develop a performance system with high intelligent witch based on Cognos technology platform is cleared. On this basis, taking CPIC as an example, how to achieve a high efficient and intelligent system which based on business intelligence is discussed. At first, analysis of the original transaction data load management,report management, report application, the demand function application services and so on. And then the characteristics of Cognos technology platform is combined with, the system architecture is designed, the performance system is completed. Which focuses on the development of intelligent report and how to use it, the way of dimension drilling, drag, numerical calculation, index of custom subsets and report application functions. Finally, a summary of system design is provided and the shortage and scalability of the system is analyzed and discussed.
