The Research And Application Of The Video On Demand Technology In Rural Informatization Project

RI(Rural informatization)is the urgent demand to accelerate building modern griculture,making new rural economy prosperous and increasing peasants' income. RI is a process topenetrate the informatization to peasants'working, business, consuming, studying and otherphases, thereby greatly improves the peasant's producing efficiency and life level.Currently, the informatization products are far from being popularized at rural, peasant'sawareness of informatization is still poor, and the cost to gain information is very expensive.And more than this, the present information resources situation is also very poor. All these bringextremely large obstacle for RI development.Based on all above background, this paper clarified the detailed expounding on video ondemand technology researching and application in RI project. Firstly, this paper brieflyintroduces RI system based on"TV set+Set Top Box"realization method; secondly, it explainsthe general RI system instruction from three aspects, including the first platform,the secondplatform and terminal function;the third part points out the system's key character, and gives afeasible system building solution. Finally, this paper details the concrete realization methods ofseveral main functional modules from the technology view.Through the application and popularization of this system, an effective and convenientrealization method would be provided to RI process, to breakthrough the current RI bottleneck,to create two different platforms, to build the RI environment, to realize the knowledge andinformation sharing with peasants,to accelerate the agriculture producing sustaining developmentwith high output, high quality and high-efficiency,and to let more peasant friends get reallybenefit from this system.
