VHF radar has advantage on stealthy aircraft; however, due to the inherent feathers of VHF, this type of radar has disadvantages such as poor angular resolution and poor anti-interference ability. However, the Synthetic Impulse and Aperture Radar(SIAR)can solve the above problems. Because of special system of SIAR, its signal processing has two coinstantaneous parts: target detecting and target tracking. The detecting process completes normal signal detection and parameters estimation, and target tracking accomplishes detecting of main target and accurate parameters estimation. This dissertation concentrates on the aspects associated with this style of radar. It introduces the target tracking technology in SIAR system. In this paper, we firstly provide the system model of the sparse circular arrays. Then we introduce the main function of the target tracking technology, which includes Digital Beam Forming (DBF), Synthetic Pulse, Envelope Compensating, Long Time Pulse Coherent Accumulation, and Radar Constant False Rate (CFAR) detection and Plots Agglomeration. Considering the project, we introduce the hardware and software implementation of Target Tracking Process board by using the ADSP TS201S and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA).
