Measurement of azimuth is an important technology for radars, navigation systems and control systems to supervise their states. Research and development of measurement system of azimuth becomes an important subject. The transmission of rotation angle from radar azimuth drive shaft to terminals includes the measurement of signal in mechanical structure, the transform from rotation angle to analog signal, and the conversion from analog signal to digital signal. Finally digital signal is transmitted to terminals. The model of measurement systems of azimuth of radars based on synchro is established in this thesis. Reasons of errors in the systems and typical parts are also analyzed in this thesis based on the theory of radar errors. Measures of improving the precision of azimuth are also proposed for radars in designing with different mountings of synchro according to azimuth precision data. Finally, dynamic simulation of a radar rotation platform system is implemented. Performance, movement, impact and peak value of radars can be estimated. Optimized design can be carried out with the simulation.
