Computer modelling and simulation techniques are becoming increasingly important in the design and development of modern radar systems. Radar signal simulator features economy, flexibility, repeatability. It's indispensable to radar system designing, radar system development and radar system test. The main purpose of this paper is to summarize radar clutter models and generate various kinds of clutters for the laboratory simulation systems. The paper also introduces airplane-mounted radar sea clutter modeling and simulation.First, this paper analyses and studies the characteristic of clutter signal, and it introduces the basic concept of clutter. Then it put the main emphasis on summarize the clutter properties of amplitude, which clutter modeling follows. Based on the concept, it discusses the modeling of clutter. With reference to clutter simulation based on ZMNL, this paper firstly introduces normal methods of generating relevant stochastic series. According to logarithmic normal distribution, Weber distribution and K distribution, clutter modeling and simulation are realized. In the last, this paper introduced the sea clutter properties and the basic concept of planar clutter spectrum, and based on these, two-dimensional simulation-model of airplane-mounted radar sea clutter was introduced.
