Routing technology is one of the key technologies of WSN(Wireless Sensor Networks). Energy consumption is the primary concern factor due to the characteristics of WSN, how to design low power routing protocol is an important task. To solve this problem, based on LEACH and PEGASIS protocols, three improved algorithms LEACH-center, LEACH-energy and APLc (Adaptive PEGASIS & LEACH-center) were proposed in this paper. The first algorithm can ensure that the cluster head is located in the center of cluster area, to reduce the energy consumption within the cluster. The second one can ensure that the cluster head is the most powerful node within the cluster so as to extend the time when there comes dead node firstly in networks. The last one APLc can dynamically adopt a chain or a start structure within the cluster, it not only embodies the PEGASIS and LEACH-center in the energy-saving advantages, but also adopts cluster structure, which makes up the large delay of PEGASIS. Theoretical analysis and simulation illustrated that these three algorithms can improve the energy consumption, prolong the lifetime of networks and reduce the delay better than the original algorithm.
