Integrated business information management system is gradually moving towards a mature management information system (MIS). Along with the rapid development of urban public transport, MIS has broad prospects for its application. MIS is the system consisting of people and computer, carrying out the collection, transmission, storage, processing, and maintenance and using of the administration information. This paper explores the development process and methods of management information systems through the development and design process of a specific integrated business information management system. This paper describes the results of this subject and sums up the technical problems encountered in the development process and their solutions with a set of better proposals suited to this program. After analysis, we use Sybase's PowerBuilder 9 as a development tool. PowerBuilder combines the best integrated development environment, visual object-oriented programming, a good database application support, full-featured VCL component database and efficient compiler to provide the developers with development tools which develops application programs following Windows standard on the base of visual development platform of Object Pascal language. PowerBuilder 9 is the only development tool supporting for all major industry standards (XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSL), as well as Sybase.NET based on Web services, BizTalk and Sun's ONE system. In addition, it has flexibility and reliability on the need of Web developers.With PowerBuilder 9, any enterprise can be quickly transferred to the future e-commerce application development based on Web services, rather than discarding the former development methods, techniques and source code.In addition, cooperating with Linux, PowerBuilder 9 users can create a single source code used in Windows and Linux, which will increase the potential return on investment.There are three versions of PowerBuilder 9. Personal Edition is a version provided to beginners and general-purpose developers. Professional Edition is suitable for professional developers to make a higher level real development. Enterprise Edition applies to corporate developers to carry out database development of more levels.Making use of its various controls, especially its visual programming environment provides greater convenience for the development system. First of all, the prototype system is built up in a short period of time. Then, the iterative requirements are carried out to the initial prototype system which then needs to be revised and improved constantly until the prototype system becomes a viable system that satisfies customers.The present system uses SQL Server database, and the operations that can be completed with the use of SQL Server Query Analyzer include:1. The query window makes users easily key in Transact-SQL statement.2. Transact-SQL statement typed into the query window marks different objects in different colors so as to increase the readability of SQL statements.3. Object Browser with object discover tool allows users to easily search object in the database and check the structure of the object.4. The implementation results of the query can be displayed in the box or text window, or write directly into the referred listing files.5. Template file includes the basic structure of Transact-SQL statement necessary for the establishment of objects in the database. Templates can be used to speed up the compilation of the Transact-SQL statement.SQL Server Service Manager has the following four services:1. SQL Server Service is used to realize SQL Server database engine. It can be said to be the most basic component of SQL Server, which means that stopping SQL Server services will stop all the SQL services. Each instance of SQL Server has a SQL Server service.2. SQL Server Agent Service can be automatically assigned the task to monitor the operation of SQL Server and carry out an alarm if necessary. Each instance of SQL Server has a SQL Server Agent service.3. Microsoft Search Service is used to achieve the full text search engine. No matter how many SQL Server instances on computer, there will be only one Microsoft Search service.4. MSDTC Service (Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator) is used to manage distributed transactions. No matter how many SQL Server instances on computer, there will be only one MSDTC service.This present system consists of seven modules: system management, vehicle management, driver management, maintenance Management, warehouse management, financial management, and operating management. These modules are both single modules with separate function, and also an inseparable whole.Systems Management includes the system registry, password modification, adding new users, database backup and recovery.Vehicle Management manages the basic information of vehicles to realize the query, accession, modification and deletion of vehicle information.Driver Management manages basic information of staff to realize accession, modification and deletion of driver information.Maintenance Management displays the vehicle requiring and maintenance state, to achieve accession, deletion, modification and other operations of the maintenance state. Warehouse Management manages the part's information, and realizes the warehouse entry and delivery of parts from storage.Financial Management displays information of driver's wage and provides the setting of revenue and statements of pilot's wage.The operating management gives a comprehensive operating plan and operating status and adjusts schedule of service and its statements, and then shows the income of drivers on different lines, and the fuel, attendance, health, integration, operating mileage of passenger and other data.The system is a good open system and it is believed that the system will bring a good economic and social benefit after being put into use. At the same time, it will also have some practical value and reference for other related systems.
