For improving the overall standard of medical services, and increasing market competitiveness, it shows great Practical significance. Information, network and advanced technology are the basic feature of the social development. It's the requirement of hospital scientific management and the necessary way to link with international field.UML is an object-oriented modeling language which can map the user's business requirements into the model and improve the scalability and the efficiency of the system. This paper will illustrate some diagrams in UML such as the use case diagram, sequence diagram, collaboration diagram, state diagrams and activity diagrams, furthermore the business processes and requirements of the medicine management system will also be analyzed and designed to express the accurate functional needs of the system. In this case, UML could solve all the indeed analysis of the requirements and the actual modeling of the business, therefore a good foundation has been made for the overall planning of the next step.There are total six sections in this paper. In first, the subject background of the hospital medicine management system is introduced in this paper. Secondly, the paper puts forward the questions that are studied, summarizes the meaning of the subject, and describes in detail UML basis knowledge and relevant technology of system structure and development platform that system involves, which offers the theoretical foundation in order to realize system. And then, on the basis of customers'requirement, we put forward overall goal, creating principles, designing mentality, analyze operation principle, and work out overall realization scheme of system software. The article also introduces the UML's development history, basic concepts and basic elements systematically, and how to apply the UML modeling technology in the system, using class diagrams to extract the user requirements, using timing diagrams and activity diagrams to describe the system of business processes, using the class diagram describe the static characteristics of various objects and their interaction. At the same time, the article makes a corresponding presentation about the system design and development, focusing on database design and subsystem module design, combined with Adaptive Server Anywhere and PowerBuilder programming, coming into the creation of database and the implementation of the module.To sum up, the successful implementation of the system greatly enhanced the level of hospital medicine management, increasing the hospital's economic income, reducing the majority of health care staff for their work intensity, and achieved good economic and social benefits.
