With the vehicle industry development, the number of vehicles is increasing. The great many cars would bring serious environment contamination and frequent traffic accidents. In order to reduce environment contamination and traffic accidents, on the one hand, we improve our awareness. To be more important, we should keep the car excellent performance. Developing and designing vehicle performance testing system to find unsafe factor and restore the performance of the car, therefore, is special significant. Vehicle performance testing system, however, is appropriative. In other words, it is designed for special test target. Therefore, its application range is narrow. Different acquisition circuits will be designed for different testing objects. It is time-consuming and laborious. So a universal data acquisition system for vehicle performance is designed.The method of combination control, which based on SEP4020 and FPGA, is adopted. FPGA is the controller of super-speed AD, while SEP4020 is processor of the system. It gives full play to the timing sequence of FPGA and data processing of SEP4020. Furthermore, it constructs a simple USB controller for data transmission between high-speed AD and processor.7-inch LCD is video terminal, while SD card is storage terminal. For its high-memory capacity, super-speed data transmission and great flexible portability, it could ensure more convenient data-portability and longer data-storage.After system verification on the wheel-balance machine, it figures out the system deviation-between 1.5% and 3%. It meets the precision of special Acquisition System, therefore, it satisfies practical application.
