The Pei-Yang Pictorial News, a very famous pictorial of the 1920s-1930s in china, is the study object of the paper. The pictorial was published in TianJin from July 7 1926 to July 29 1937.In terms of the status quo of blank research on the pei-yang pictorial news, the writer firstly explores the circumstances that gave the pictorial birth and made it developed, including economy development, the technological advancement in print and image making, the flourish of art, the rise of citizen class ,the help of Zhang Xueliang, a warlord and politician. Then, the paper begins to introduce Feng Wuyue, the boss of the pictorial, thoroughly and studies the characteristic named "one newspaper, many supplements".In the fourth chapter, the writer puts emphasis on editor eyeshot. The writer summarizes five kinds of eyeshot; they are western vision, female visual field, Canton complex, interesting style, patriotic orientation.Then, the writer studies the marketing strategies and communication skills of the pictorial, including the strategies of product, price, place, promotion and the skills of CIS and advertisement. Certainly, the writer does not ignore the multiply business that the pictorial press operated.At last, the writer compares the Pei-yang Pictorial News with the Young Companion published in Shanghai in cover, content, appearance, political standpoint and marketingstrategy.
